BACHELOR’S DEGREE

Description of the specialty:

Training at the Maritime Academy under the group of educational programs B066 – “Sea transport and technologies” consists in providing the Republic of Kazakhstan with specialists of the maritime and river transport personnel and the management of water transport activities in order to effectively develop the water transport industry, develop and use the spaces and resources of the Caspian Sea on the basis of a combination of traditions of training sailors and advanced educational technologies and higher education programs.

Since 2017, students have been trained according to an experimental educational program developed in accordance with the requirements of the International Convention on Training, Certification of Seafarers and Watchkeeping of 1978, as amended (STCW-78) on specializations:

6B07112-Operation of ship power plants

6B07113 – Navigation

6B07114 – Operation of ship electrical equipment and automation equipment

6B07115 – Operation of transshipment equipment of ports and transport terminals

Students ‘ opportunities within the specialty:

All students of the Maritime Academy are provided with a hostel and uniforms.

Students, future specialists-shipmasters, study navigation and navigation, radio communication, ship management, the basics of ship crew management, hydrometeorology and other disciplines by specialization.

Students, future specialists in ship mechanics, study marine internal combustion engines, marine turbomachines, auxiliary mechanisms, boiler rooms, refrigeration units and other disciplines by specialization.

Students, future specialists in electrical mechanics, study the theoretical foundations of electrical engineering, automation, electronics, computer technology, electrical machines, ship electric power systems, rowing electrical installations and other disciplines by specialization.

Students, future mechanical specialists, study in detail topical issues of organizational and technological activities of ports, methods of rational operation of transshipment machines and environmental safety issues. The training profile provides knowledge in the design, construction and operation of loading and unloading, transport and storage systems in sea and river ports.

The educational program, in addition to theoretical training, includes practical training on ships, in ports, at factories, as well as ship repair, electrical installation practices in workshops, laboratories and simulators of the Maritime Academy, at enterprises, shipyards, both Kazakh and foreign companies.

All graduates of the Maritime Academy receive, in addition to a state-issued diploma of higher professional education, a working diploma of a watch mate, a working diploma of a ship’s electrician, a working diploma

the watch mechanic of a marine vessel. These diplomas are recognized by all maritime organizations of the countries of the Caspian region and allow you to work without restrictions on ships of Kazakh and foreign companies.

During their studies, students can engage in scientific activities, various sports, participate in scientific internship programs in laboratories around the world, develop their cultural level, participate in various student events for personal development (Public Talk, startup, Makaton, KVN, etc.) held at Yessenov University.
